New Toy

I got a new toy this weekend. I have been dying for a good sewing/embroidery machine since I knew we were going to have a girl. Well I've actually wanted one for longer than that I just REALLY REALLY wanted one after I knew we were going to have a girl! I have been scoping them out for a while now but this weekend I talked Dax into going to Sewing World with me to look at them. We left with a Brothers Innov-is 1250D.

I am so excited to learn how to make stuff for Zoey. Although I'm sure I will never become a pro! I will still have to order stuff from Ms Ashley at SheShe Made!

Tomorrow I am going to TRY (key word) to embroider a onesie for Zoey and make a few gifts for one of my best friends, Natalie,  who is expecting little Tenley at the end of June and do a few things for my niece who had her little boy Kyler a few weeks ago! If they turn out ok I will post them! :)

Now I'm off to work some more for the Hubby.

Bow Frame

Yesterday I took the kids to go have lunch with Daddy. Rilan loves going to see his Daddy during the work day. We went to what he calls the "Cheesy Noodle Store" aka Picasso's. If you have never been there you should try it sometime. They have the best calzones ever! :) There is a little consignment store right beside it I had been wanting to go in just never had the time after we ate so yesterday we went in to look for a frame I could make into a bow hanger. They had lots of awesome stuff. I can't wait to go back. I hope they still have a the mirror I want for Zoey's room next time we go in.....or maybe our room! Anyway this is what I came home with.

Cute huh?! When we got home I couldn't wait to get started on it. I took the glass and photo out of it first.

Then I spray painted the lovely thing with flat black spray paint. I was about 3/4 of the way done and ran out of paint. So I had to make a quick run to Hobby Lobby once Dax got home. After I was all done with the black and it had dried I added some hot pink and lime green to the detailing.

A few close ups of the detailing.

After the paint was all dry I added 5 rows of ribbon for the bows to clip onto. I used hot glue but you could also use a staple gun if you wanted to.

Each row of ribbon I did a double layer to give it a little more color and since Zoey has some smaller little clips for her hair I though that would be easy to clip them onto.

Here is what it looked like finished before I hung it up.

Close up of the ribbon.

The finished product in her room before bows. (It is hanging straight in her room I just took the photo a little crooked!) oops!

Now with a few bows and clips on it. Still have a lot more that need to go on it. I just wanted some of the ribbon to still show for the photo.

I am already itching to go and get another fame to make more! Maybe because I saw at Hobby Lobby yesterday photo frames are 50% off right now!

And just because grandparents will want to see photos of the kids, this is from this morning. Rilan came down stairs when he woke up with his fire jacket and hat (halloween costume he decided not to wear.)

He also brought one of his chairs down to put on the couch so he could be like his "Zo Zo." He is always making me laugh, he had started calling Zoey Zo and now its Zo Zo.

They were watching some cartoon on Sprout.

Doesn't she look big here?!

4 Months?!

Zoey Girl I can't believe you are 4 months old today! Time is going by wayyy too quickly. You are such a happy sweet baby. You love to smile, last night when I was talking to you I ticked your nose accidentally with my hair and you laughed so much. It melted my heart to hear those sweet giggles! I can't wait to see how much you change in the next 4 months but please make them go by a little slower than the last 4 months!

Her hands crack me up in this photo for some reason.
I love her smiles!
  • You haven't had your well check yet but I'm guessing you weight about 13lbs
  • I just started putting size 2 diapers on you 3 days ago because size 1 was making your cute chunky thighs red.
  • You eat anywhere from 3-6 oz of formula every 4-5 hours during the day
  • You have been sleeping through the night for the last 3 weeks
  • You wake up so happy in the mornings I love waking up to your smile
  • You are still sleeping in Mommy and Daddy's room in your Nap Nanny
  • You don't usually take good naps in the day because you are busy watching Rilan but by the evening you are ready to crash.
  • You have learned how to grab stuff and everything goes straight to your mouth.
  • I think you are starting to teethe because you have been drooling so much and want to chew on anything and everything.
  • You still love taking a bath. You just lay there and smile at me as I am bathing you. You could relax in the warm water for a while I'm sure if I would let you.
  • You have now been to 3 motocross races and you are prefect while we are there. The noise has never bothered you nor the heat.
  • You are holding up your head better and better each day.
  • You still haven't rolled over but you are really trying
  • You drank water for the first time yesterday and you loved it
Happy girl!

She is such a happy baby! We are blessed.

I can't believe how much you have grown. Slow down baby girl! Mommy loves you so much.

Crazy Week

I am finally home after a week of being gone! Too bad we are only here for a week before we have to do it all again! We went back "home" to see family and to work at our shop in Lubbock and then my Mom had one of her retirement parties.

It was a crazy but good week. We got there on Friday evening and just hung out with my parents and then Saturday all the craziness started! Rilan and my Mom stayed in Tahoka and hung out and got some good Rilan Granda time. Dax and I went to the shop and worked for a while, well I didn't really work! I just kept them company! My Dad, uncle, and some friends came in to look at some stuff for their motorcycles and then I had to go and run some errands. Dax's mom went with me to Babies R Us to get some stuff for my niece Ashley who just had her baby, Kyler. Then we went to KK's Craft Mall to look for some bows and such.

After we did that I wanted to go look for something for the kids to wear for their pictures that we are having taken tomorrow by MckMama. I got a dress for Zoey, when I tired it on her it was way too big. It may fit her by the time summer is over! haha.

After that I needed to to run to Wal-Mart and get some stuff for a graduation party we were having for my cousin Jynna. When I finished there we went to eat with Dax's family at Outback, went back to Wal-Mart to get more stuff I forgot the first time then headed back to my parents for the night.

On Sunday we were busy getting ready for the party, we went after lunch and did all the decorating went home changed clothes got the kids ready for the party went back cut up all the veggies finished up all the final details and then it was party time! We had a really good crowd show up. I am so very proud of you Jynna. You are such a wonderful Christian example to all. I know that you will be very successful in all you do because of your love for the Lord, never stray.

On Monday after Rilan got up Dax's parents came and got him to spend the night with them. He loves going to get "bachi rice" with them and going to the "little toy store." Then they went out to Buffalo Lake to the beach so he could play in the sand. Zoey and I took it easy and went and visited my Mom at school then that evening I cut and colored her hair and cut my aunt Jana's hair.

Tuesday I went to Lubbock for a while to help at the shop so Dax's parents could spend a little more time with Rilan. He wanted to go back to the beach to play! After school my Mom came up and we went to the mall to get her something to wear for her retirement party. After we were done shopping we went to eat at Orlandos. Super yummy! Rilan had his "cheesy noodles" and Mom and I shared Down and Dirty Tortellini and Chicken Alfredo.

On Wednesday my Dad came home from work early and got to hang out with us. Zoey and I hung out inside getting ready for the party that afternoon and Rilan and Pops played out side a lot! Mom came home from work a little early so she could change clothes for the party and off we went. I think she had a really good time. I can't believe she only has one more week of school EVER!! Its so crazy. She has taught in Tahoka for 33 years. She started out in 5th grade, went to 6th grade. Then to 4th and went I was going into the 4th grade she went down to 2nd grade so she wouldn't have to teach my brother or I. She has been in 2nd grade for the last 15 years!!

Mom, I am so proud of you. You have touched so many peoples lives and I know that you will be missed, but I am glad to have you at home so we can see you more!

Mom and some of her former teaching partners.

Mom and her current teaching partners, Angela and Shayla.

Posing behind their cake. Between the 3 of them they had 99 years experience!

We got home yesterday evening and I am pooped. I have to find some energy some where though because Dax's mom will be here later today for the weekend and I still have lots of cleaning to do and things to put away from our trip!

Bow.utiful

I got to make some bows for a friend I reconnected with while I was pregnant with Zoey. We were both pregnant at the same time and due within 2 weeks of each other and both have little girls who ended up 2 days apart! We are both addicted to putting our girls in bows so she asked me to make a few for her little girl Khyler.

Isn't she just adorable?!

She is going to be the cutest Sundown cheerleader you ever saw in this bow!

Lot's of bling!

And last but not least....

Sara, I hope you like them!

Brother Sister

I can not get over the relationship Rilan and Zoey have already established. It is so precious to watch them interact with each other. She loves to watch him while he is playing with cars or dirt bikes in the floor and just lights up with the biggest grin when he talk to her.

Rilan loves to lay on the floor with her while she is playing and keep her music going or hand her a toy. He always ask if I can take their picture together and of course I do, I just think its so cute that he asks.

I look forward watching their relationship grow as she gets older and even more aware of how special(and protective) her brother will be to her. Zoey is defiantly a lucky little girl to have Rilan as her brother!

Rilan

I have always had a love for photography, now with having kids its grown a lot! I always just had a point and shoot though so I never did much. A little over a year ago I got a Nikon and have tried learning a little more about it.

I would love to be able to start shooting children and families, so I try and practice on Rilan and Zoey! Today Rilan let me take a few shots while he was jumping on the trampoline. If anyone is up for me doing some of your kids or a family shoot let me know! For now enjoy these photos of Rilan!

Mother's Day

I am having such a wonderful Mother's Day at home with my hubby and kids! They got me a spa package to go get a massage or facial and a mani/pedi! I can't wait to use it. Rilan has been telling me all day "Happy Mother's Day" and Zoey was "talking" to him while I was ironing their clothes and he said, "Mommy, Mommy!!" I asked him what he needed and he said that Zoey was telling me Happy Mother's Day too! He is so sweet.

I love being a Mommy so much, it is defiantly the best job ever! I was blessed 4.5 years ago with my sweet sweet Rilan. He has been such a blessing to our family. He is quite a had full but has the sweetest and kindest heart. I love how much he tells me that he loves me. There are no sweeter words than hearing your child say I love you Mommy.

In January we welcomed sweet Zoey into the world. I feel like our family is complete now. I love her so much. She is now smiling and "talking" and it melts my heart every time I hear it. I can't wait to see how her sweet personality develops.

Being a Mom is so much more rewarding than I could have ever imagined it would be. I just wish I could keep them small a little longer! They will be grown before I know it. Thank you Daxin for allowing me to say at home with our children.

Happy Mother's Day to all your Mommy's out there and to the ones who are still waiting.

Names

So today on Kelly's Korner is Kid's Names or future kids names.
Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner

Rilan James
When I got pregnant with Rilan all I wanted to do was find the perfect baby name. I loved the name Chloe after a sweet little girl that I knew and Dax loved the name Brynn so if he was a girl his well her name would have been Chloe Brynn and would have gone by Brynn, luckly he was a boy! I had saw the name Ryland in a baby naming book and immediately fell in love with it. I just didn't care for the D on the end. So I suggested it to Dax and he loved the name too and wanted to change the Y to and I and so we got Rilan. James is after Dax's dad who's name is Jim.

Zoey Brynn
We had a lot more trouble coming up with Zoey's name. For some reason coming up with boy names is easier for us. Well names we agree on! :) If she had been a boy her name would have been Daxin Kane or Daxin Kai. When we found out she was a girl I was so excited, I love Rilan and I am very thankful I had him first, but I was so excited to get to play dress up with a little girl. We loved so many different names for a girl. Dax loved Abigail, Sophia, Zoey, and Brynn. I really loved the name Sophia but it bugged me that it as so popular right now. I loved the name Chloe still but a friend I worked with for a while had named her little girl that so it was easier to give that name up! I also like the name Elle. We finally decided to name her Zoey. Dax still loved the name Brynn and it fit well with Zoey so we got Zoey Brynn. Rilan apparently loves the name Brynn too because this week he has decided that his name needs to be Rilan Brynn! haha

*We will NOT be having any more children so there are no future kids names! :)*
