Bretton

Just have a quick prayer request. My cousin Bretton was in a motocross accident this past week end in Louisville, Kentucky. He was taken to the hospital where they learned that he had fractured a vertebra in his back. Today he went back to the doctor since making it back to Texas(which took 2 days because of the ice storms). He has a T9 compression fracture along with something else T5-T8 they are not sure what yet. He will have a MRI on Monday. They had to change the pain medicine he was on due to him hallucinating from it. He is having a hard time dealing with the injury and what could have been. Please pray that he is able to make a complete recovery and get back to his normal routine. I will post more when we find out what the MRI results are next week. Thanks!

Blah...

I have been so down in the dumps lately. I just wish I lived in a town where I could have a best friend. I have been so lonely up here. I love getting to stay at home with Rilan, and I would NOT trade that for the world, but I just wish I had a friend I could always call to talk to, to confide in and just to do "girly" things with. I love being in a house with boys but I also need my "girl" time. It seems to be sooo hard to make friends in a big town expecially when I don't work. I haven't had a BEST friend since high school it seems like. I loved it when we lived in Lubbock and I had my Kadiza girls to to things with and be around but now that is gone that we live here. Sorry for my sobb story just thinking and had to get it out of me. Maybe one day I will have one again, until then I guess I'll just have to learn to deal a little longer. Bridesmaid

So this is the dress I will be wearing for my cousin's wedding in April! I love the dress but I don't love how I look in it! I have started back to Weight Watchers and working out at least 5 days a week, so hopefully I will be close to where I want to be by the time April 4th rolls around. I even started tanning again, so maybe I will look okay. I get so nervous about stuff like this. I just don't want to be the reason all the pictures with the bridesmaids are awful! :) So say a huge prayer that I don't ruin the pictures. Maybe I should just ask to go on the Biggest Loser until the wedding, yeah I think I will do that. HAHA

Colorado

2 weeks from today Dax and I are getting to take an adult vacation! We are so excited. We are headed to Breckenridge Colorado with a few friends and hopefully my aunt and her fiance'. I can not wait to go although I have to admit and I am kinda dreading being away from Rilan. This will be the first time he is gone for more than a night since he was 6 months old. Going from being with him every day all day to not seeing him for 5 days is going to be very very hard for me to deal with. I am already having trouble just thinking about it. We are going over the Valentines holiday weekend so that should be really fun and hopefully romantic since we will be in the snowy mountians! We have not gotten to go snowboarding since we lived in Lubbock and it was an awful trip, I got sick and it was New Years eve and there were TONS of people there so we didn't get to do a whole lot of anything but wait in lines. I can't wait to see if I can actually still board, I have been working out like a mad woman and trying to loose as much weight as possible before we go so I'm not the one everyone is waiting on! :) I can't wait, it will almost be like a honeymoon for Dax and I since we only got a very very short one when we got married. I'm so excited to take our new camera, I am going to make Dax and I a scrapbook of our trip! I will post lots of pictures when we get back!

This is a record!

So three blogs in one day! This is a record for a whole month I think! I think I only posted like 6 blogs last year from the time I started blogging! Well this blog is about some cute scarves I found at Wal-Mart. I follow Angie at Bring the Rain, you should really check out her blog! But she had Big Mama post a video blog on how to tie a scarf, so I wanted to find me some cute light scarves to wear. Anyway, I found some really cute ones and they were only $5.00 yes $5.00!!!! I got about 5 of them in all different colors. So go to Wal-Mart and find you a $5.00 scarf!

New toy for Mommy!

So this weekend I was lucky to receive an awesome gift from my in-laws! They got us a brand new Nikon D60!!!! I am sooo excited. Today I went and took pictures of Rilan at the train he loves. It is a vintage steam engine that was redone and is there for people to look at and climb on. I don't know how many of you know how much Rilan loves trains so this was so much fun for him to acutally get in it and "drive it." Maybe I can get the pictures uploaded and edited and up before tonights end! We will see if I can figure it all out! I am so exited I am going to be able to start taking awesome photos of the little guy!

Christmas..

We had a really good BUSY Christmas! It was jam packed going from Tahoka to Lubbock far too many times to keep a person sane! haha Christmas Eve we had Christmas at my PaPa's house with my Mom's side of the family. Rilan and Miller had a lot of fun playing, I don't have any pictures of that christmas with me, they are all on my Mom's camera. Then that evening we went to Dax's parents house for dinner and to open gifts. I got a really cool coat from Banana Republic and then a new pair of sunglasses. Rilan got wayy to much, and wasn't really into opening gifts we made him try to open a few but he really just wanted to play with his trains. One thing he got that was really cool is a real electric guitar! He doesn't really like it yet but Daddy sure does! Then that night we went back to my Mom and Dad's house in Tahoka to spend the night hoping Santa would come see us there! Boy did he! Rilan made out with TONS of stuff. He was mostly just interested in all the Thomas stuff. He even got another better drum set, he got one last year too but it was very cheap and didn't like to stay up! So he is all fixed up in the music department! After we saw what Santa brought him my Dad had a surprise for him. He got him his first REAL 4-wheeler! I think that Dax and I are more excited about it than him! haha Then for lunch we headed out to my Dad's parents house with the Engle crew! What a great time we had, we ate lunch and then opened all of our gifts. We always to a chinese christmas thing, where we draw numbers and then steal each others gifts. This year I got a really cook crock pot and Dax got a lamp that he was wanting for work. But I made him let me keep the new one at home and made him take one of our old ones to work! Rilan got a Vtech VSmile Pocket from Bayle and then we got our usual money from my Grandparents and Rilan also got 2 dirt bikes that he LOVES to play with. That afternoon was spent out on the track with lots of dirt bikes and the mule. We actually were able to get Rilan on the mule and ride it. Then that evening we went back to Dax's parents for dinner and to spend a few nights with them.

The end of the week didn't go quite as well as the first. The next morning Rilan woke up not in the best mood, so Dax's dad wanted to take him to eat "bachi rice" thats what Rilan calls the Japanese Steak places. So off we went, Rilan didn't eat a thing and just wanted me to hold him, NOT like him at all. So I started feeling his head and he felt like he might have a little fever. We got back to the houe and I checked it sure nough he did. It was only like 100 at this point so I put him down for a nap hoping he might feel a little better when he got up. No such luck it was only worse, it had got up to about 101. That evening we went to see a friend of Dax's that lives in NY and was in town for the holidays. we were gone for about an hour. When we got back I was going to check his fever again and Dax's mom said she had done it about 30 minutes ago, and it was 98 or so, I was like well I will check it again to make sure its gone. I checked it and he was 103.2!! I freaked to say the least! He wasn't having any other symptoms but his fever so I had no clue what to do. The next morning I decided if he still had a fever to take him to Urgent Care. He still had a 103 fever when we got up so off to the Dr. we went. On the way I wasn't feeling well but thought I was just because I hadn't eaten anything. We got there and they told us that he had a ear infection in both ears and a mild throat infection. So he gave him a prescription for Amoxicillin and we were on our way to fill it. We ran to get him something to eat while they were filling it and I started feeling even worse. While we were in line at Walgreen's I told Dax to hurry and make a MAD dash back. I ended up getting a freaking stomach bug that was going around. I literally felt like I was dying, it was horrible. So that evening, I thought I could make it to my parents house before I needed to be back in a bathroom, so we loaded up and were on our way. Rilan sick as can be and me feeling horrible too. Poor Dax was a trooper taking care of us. I finally started feeling better in the night and woke up feeling much much better. Rilan's fever was finally down some. That morning we loaded everything up and came home. My mom came with us so that was a HUGE help, plus we needed her car to so we could get everything home. Well sorry for this novel. If we wouldn't have gotten sick it would have been much shorter! Hope all of you had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year!!

That Sam I Am...

Rilan has become very obsessed with reading every night. It used to be just 1 then on to 2 and now were up to about 6. Dax and I take turns reading to him and he loves to read the same ones over and over each night. He has pretty much memorized a few of them, the funniest one is Sam I Am book! He loves it...he loves it so much that a few times we have asked for green eggs and ham. Although he doesn't like ham he loves eggs so I did this for him one day....
