Missing Bubba

Rilan is away this week visiting his grandparents. I always miss him so much when he is away. The house has been so quiet with just Zoey and I here during the day. We have been getting a lot done though. We have our annual family reunion with my Mom's side of the family this weekend so we have been preparing for that.

On Sunday night I baked 5 dozen cookies and then on Monday I iced 4 dozen of them. I forgot to take a photo with my good camera and only have a few on my phone of them. I will take some this weekend before they all get eaten.

Today just hung out at home while Dax was at work and during Zoey's naps I tried to finish up a few sewing projects I had started. I wanted to make her a few things for this spring and then a dress to wear on Easter. I think everything turned out so so cute. I can't wait for her to wear them.

Here are a few of the outfits I have made Zoey.

This is her Easter dress. It has her monogram on the chest. I am going to make some bloomers with either a little bunny on them or her monogram. Not sure yet but I guess I should decide quick!

This set is something I have planned to make ever since I saw the bird applique and just got around to doing it. I had picked out the fabric a few months ago when I went to the quilt shop to get fabric. I just LOVE this!

And this last one is another I have been meaning to do for a while now. I think this turned out super cute too.

Wild Wednesday

Yesterday was a bit crazy but we made the best of it! For lunch I decided to get the kids out of the house for a bit. We went to eat at Chick-fil-a. Both kids eat so well there and Rilan loves to play in the play area. We always try to sit right up in front of the glass window so I can see him and I can keep Zoey at the table and let her eat. I always make him eat all of his nuggets before he can go play. Zoey is so content to just sit and eat and watch him play. I love the giggles that come from her as she watches him.

After we ate we ran in Hobby Lobby to get a few things and then quickly headed back home. When we got home from being out of town over the weekend our upstairs air conditioner wasn't working. Luckily we are just shy of being here for 2 years and it was still under warranty. It was a minor problem and was fixed within about 15 minutes of the guy arriving!

After he left I put Zoey down for her afternoon nap. I came downstairs and started cutting out pant patterns for a few outfits I have been needing to get done for Zoey.

Once Zoey woke we went outside to play until Dax got home from work. Dax got home from work and decided he wanted to go to a burger place down the road.

We sat outside and so we could enjoy the nice weather. The food was actually really good. We had been before and I really didn't care for it but after last night I would consider going again, soon! ha!

They give you little cards with different famous peoples name on them they use for when your order is ready.

I was having fun taking photos of everyone then Rilan got mad at me because I told him to get his hands off his face, so he decided to get under the table!

I thought it was pretty funny, he did not! :)

To sum it up, good food, bad service!

We came home I went in my work room to try and finish up one of the pairs of pants I had started. I was excited to get them done. I think they will be so cute to wear to Rangers games or the 4th of July! And I wanted get the ruffles started on the other sets so I could work during Zoey's naps.
All in all a busy but very fun day!

Weekend Recap

What a crazy weekend! We had planned on my Mom coming up to visit, watch Rilan play soccer and have me color and cut her hair. Lets just say NOTHING went as planned!

On Thursday Rilan had his first dentist appointment. He did such a good job letting them do everything they needed to do. I was a little nervous he might freak out a little. He got a great report and we headed home. My mom wanted me to call her after we were done to let her know how he did. When I called her I wasn't expecting to hear that she wasn't feeling well. She said she was having lots of pain in her side and back but didn't really think it was a kidney stone. I told her to call and let me know how she was feeling later.

We got home and Dax had to run out the door to a meeting. I laid Zoey down for a nap about 2 and when I went down stairs I noticed I had missed calls from both my Mom and Dad. I called my Dad to find out he was on his way to Lubbock with my mom. She did have a kidney stone and she had to have the stone removed because it was to large to pass.

He said they planned on keeping her over night and would call once he knew more. I immediately started throwing all of our stuff together to head that way. I knew with Mom planning on coming she would be so sad not to get to see the kids.

We ended up getting to my parents house around 10:30 and they let Mom come home and they got there just before we did. She was in lots of pain all during the night and all day Friday. I finally talked her into letting me take her back to the hospital to see what they could do for her. We got to the ER in Lubbock at about 11:30. We didn't get into a room until 5 AM!!! We waited another hour in the room before a nurse ever even came in! It was ridiculous. At 6 I texted my Dad and asked for him to come up when he woke up. He got to the hospital around 7:30 and we still hadn't seen a Doctor.

I headed back to their house and called once I got there. At 8:15 a doctor finally came in. What was happening was her body was rejecting the stint they put in and making her body think it had an infection. They gave her a new medication to help and she got to come home around 2. I slept for about 3.5-4 hours then we had to head to Dax's nephew's birthday party.

Mom had a much better night but was still having quite a bit of discomfort. Sunday we headed home around noon. I was so glad to be home but I wish I could still be there to help my Mom. She is currently at a surgical center having her kidney stone blasted. I pray this is the last of them for a long time!
Love you Mom!!

Church

Today we went to look that the preschool that Zoey will be attending in the fall. I am so excited about this for her and for myself. Its something I wanted to do for Rilan and never did and I regret that now with him starting kindergarten in the fall. But whats done is done and there is no going back. Rilan is fine away from us and loves to be around people. He spends a week away every few months at his grandparents and always has a blast.

Zoey has never been away from Dax or I. She has stayed with my mom and Dax's mom a few times for an hour or so but nothing more that that ever. She is such a happy girl and I want her to be that way whether she is with us or away from us. So I think this will be a good thing for her.
We decided to enroll her in Cross Timbers Community Church preschool and I am so thankful we did. I immediately felt good when I walked in the door. We have been looking for a church and I really think this is going to be the one. I really hope that Dax ends up liking it as much and I did.

We are going to go to church there on Sunday and I am really looking forward to it. The room she will be in for Sunday is the same room as she will be in during school. I think if I can get her used to being there that come time to start school she won't have as much separation anxiety.

Saturday Recap...

Today Dax and Rilan have been at the Dallas supercross. They left around 11 this morning. So Zoey and I have had a day of hanging out. As soon as they left she was saying she wanted to go nite-nite. I put her down for a nap and she slept for over 2 hours! When she got up we had lunch and then got ready and headed to Ella Bella in Southlake to do a little shopping.

I got her this adorable outfit while I was there.

Then we ran in Target really quick to get some new disposable table toppers for when we go out to eat. I wish we would have had something like that for Rilan! It is so easy to just put one down to put her food on rather than trying to make sure she doesn't pull a plate off the table!

When we got home Zo took a late nap woke and we ate some salad and pizza. She is about to go to bed and I am going to wait up for the boys to get home to hear how their day went!

Supercross Stars...

Tomorrow Rilan and Dax are headed to the Dallas Supercross. I am so sad I am not going this year. Its something that we all love but with a busy baby girl I just didn't feel like it was fair to make her be out of the house all day tomorrow. Sitting in a stadium for 12 hours probably isn't what she would consider fun!

On Friday evenings a lot of the riders will head to local shops to sign autographs. We headed out to DFW Honda in Grapevine to get Chad Reed's autograph rather than Dax and Rilan stand in a line for hours tomorrow to try and get one.

Chad Reed

Kevin Windham

We got to meet Trey Canard, Chad Reed, Kevin Windham, Justin Barcia, and Blake Wharton. We got all their autographs and posters and then Rilan got his photo made with the 450 Riders. We also let him get a replica bike of Windham and we had him sign the box.

Rilan had so much fun getting to meet all the riders and is so excited for tomorrow!
