Mid Week Randoms: Sickies

Our house has been FULL of sickness over the past few months! I can not begin to tell you how ready I am for us all to to be happy and healthy people! I mentioned last week that I ended up with strep and seriously felt like I was dying! Now Rilan and Zoey both have it and we are on day 3 of having to miss school!

We did have a fun weekend though before the sickness hit! On Friday Dax's parents came up for a visit to celebrate his birthday. We went and had dinner at Rilan's favorite, hibachi! It was so yummy!!

On Saturday we went to the Fort Worth Zoo to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather we were having. Zoey HATED our trip a few weeks ago and did SO much better this time! I think she loved having her Daddy there to keep her safe.

When we got home from the zoo I had a Thirty-One package waiting on me from a party I had the week before. I was so EXCITED to deliver all the goodies to everyone AND get to see my 5th Avenue I had ordered myself!

I LOVE the bag! It fits all I need to carry for myself and a few diapers and wipes for Zoey!

I thought that Rilan was feeling a bit better yesterday afternoon, but he seems to feel awful again this morning. I am hoping he can go back to school tomorrow. I know he is missing out on lots and missing his friends!

Sorry for all the randomness! Hope everyone had a good rest week!

My Thirty-One Favorites

I have quickly become OBSESSED with all my thirty-one bags I have been getting! I switch up what I carry constantly! I wanted to share with you some of my favorite bags.

Retro Metro Bag
I got this bag for the frist time this past summer before I became a consultant and fell in LOVE. It is the perfect size for a Mom or just a girl on the go. I think it would make a great bag for a young girl who prefers to carry all her school books in a bag rather than in a backpack. It has more than enough room in it for all my "stuff."

I have 2 Thirty-One Catalogs, 2 Zipper Pouches, my ipad, life planner, baby wipes, and wallet on the inside! On the outside pockets I have a sippy cup on one side and my phone, keys, and a few pens and lip gloss in the other side!

Mini Retro Metro Bag
I just got this bag in last week for Zoey and I love it. My girl is a purse lover already and I know she will love carrying this around with all of her goodies in it. I also think it will make a great bag for her to take with her to church on Sundays. The size difference between the Mini and the full size Retro Metro isn't much. It is only an inch shorter than the Retro Metro and 2 inches smaller depth wise.

Casual Cargo Bag
The Casual Cargo bag is a NEW product for spring. I got this with a kit I was able to purchase and I love it! I carried it for a few weeks and got a ton of compliments. It would make an awesome diaper bag. It has 2 pockets on the front and then on the inside it has to pockets on each side for bottles or sippy cups, it also has 2 pockets on the back inside and then one zipper pocket on the font inside.

I am hoping to have my new 5th Avenue Bag in early next week and can NOT wait to start using that.

Let me know if you have any questions about any of the bags I featured or any that thirty-one offers! I would love to help in any way I can!

Weekend Recap

I am late, as usual, but I have a good reason! :) We had a great weekend but on Sunday I started feeling awful and went to the doctor on Monday with strep! I am just now starting to feel better. Both kids had it a few month ago and Dax had it a few weeks ago but none of them had the sore throat like I had. It was awful!

Anyway, back to the fun of our weekend! My parents came into town on Friday and I meet them at Cowboys Stadium to park the RV and go grab a bite to eat. Dax and Rilan came and meet us after Rilan got out of school on Friday. Dax decided he would just rather cook out than take Zoey to eat somewhere since she had been sick with a sinus infection and pink eye. We thew some sausage on the grill and had some birthday cake to celebrate Dax turning 31!

The boys stayed in the RV and us girls decided to come back to our house and get our beauty rest! ha! After we got ready we headed back to Arlington to go and meet the guys to play in the pits for awhile. As soon as we got the the stadium it started raining so we all just went inside to watch practice. Both the kids LOVED watching the guys ride!

After we watched the first few rounds of practice we headed back to the trailer so the kids could take naps before the night show. The RV parking lot is about 3 blocks from where the entrance is so by the time we got back we were SOAKED. We got the kids down and my Mom and I made a quick run to Old Navy to buy new jeans. I forgot to bring any extra clothes for myself, and I was not about to stay in sopping wet clothes! After naps we headed back to the stadium.

Rilan was so excited! He usually doesn't have a favorite rider, but on Saturday he as ALL about Chad Reed! Reed placed 2nd in his heat race and was riding the best I have ever seen him ride in the main, until he crashed. You would have seriously thought Rilan's world was falling on top of him. I have never seen him get so upset about someone crashing! Rilan has been around motocross since he was born and has never been so upset by a crash. It was absolutely hilarious on one had and ridiculous on the other! He was bawling! I have a video of him that my Mom took and its just pitiful! I am sitting here laughing thinking about it!

Photo from Motocross.com
The crash ended up hurting Chad pretty bad. He broke 2 ribs, fractured a vertebra, tore his ACL, and fractured his tib and fib! Needless to say he is out for the season, and the remaining 10 races just got very boring!

Rilan cried for a good hour and a half about! He even went straight to the RV and colored Chad a get well picture! :)

So that about sums up our weekend. I hate I don't have a single photo of the kids, good think my Mom was there to get some! :)

Pin•spired -- I Dig You

I am linking up with Kodi at A Brighter Yellow for her Pin•spired Thursdays.

Pinspired Thursday

I saw this idea on Pinterest and LOVED it!

I asked my super handy designer Hubby to come up with some more "manly" tags to attach to the bags since they were for Rilan to give his class at school. I am sure after the fifth time I asked him to change stuff he was HATING me but I LOVE the way they turned out! Thanks D!

Did you do anything for your kids that you saw on Pinterest?

*I will add a free download for the tags this evening.*

Valentine's Day

We had a pretty low key Valentine's Day, just how I like it! :) I am not a huge fan because I feel like love should be celebrated everyday.

Rilan requested red heart shaped waffles for breakfast, so that is what we had for breakfast.

That afternoon Rilan had his Valentine's party at school so I was able to go and help with that while Zoey went to work with Daddy.

I got to the school a little early and was able to watch the kids write and learn about the Statue of Liberty. Rilan had to show me his work!

I have never seen such a wild group of kids! :) There are 22 kids in Rilan's class and I feel like there was about that much sugar in pounds there for the party! They played a quick game of bingo, then decorated sugar cookies with icing and sprinkles, and lastly they broke into 3 groups, one played pin the lips on the heart face, one played bowling, and the other looked at their Valentine sacks. I think Rilan had a blast!

Rilan and his friend Kate, and Ori jumped in! Rilan and Kate are always exchanging letters to one another. Its SO cute! She draws him hearts all the time. She is such a sweet sweet girl!

For dinner we just stayed at home and had a meal as a family. I picked up steaks, baked potatoes, and salad. I started the salad and baked potatoes, and when Dax got home he threw the steaks on the grill. They were probably the best steaks I've ever had at home! It was probably one of the best Valentine's ever! I love my sweet family so so much!

Catch Up

To say I am a horrible blogger is a HUGE understatement! :) I always have good intentions of keeping up then soon fall off the wagon!

Going to try and do a quick catch up post so I can start blogging regularly again.

  • I don't think I have mentioned that in November I became a thirty-one Consultant! I am super excited about the journey I am starting thanks to Kodi!
  • I took the kids to the Zoo all by myself! And we actually all left in one piece! ha!

  • We enrolled Zoey and Rilan in gymnastics and they are LOVING it!
  • Rilan decided to take his little 50 out for a spin at the track!

  • Zoey turned 2 and we celebrated with a Minnie Mouse birthday party!

  • Dax got a little raise at work and we went out to celebrate!

  • Rilan rushes to get ready for school every morning so he can play his 3DS he got for Christmas from his Granda and Pops.

  • And just kept up with the daily routine of school and such! :)
Not a whole lot in the grand scheme of things but enough to keep up happy and busy!
